The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a factory that produces fuel for Smerch and Tornado-S systems
On the night of August 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the “Kamensky Plant” in the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation. The facility produces solid rocket fuel for the “Uragan,” “Smerch,” and “Tornado-S” multiple launch rocket systems, and a fire was reported on its premises following the strike.
On the night of August 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the federal state-owned enterprise “Kamensky Plant” in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Oblast, Russia. A fire was reported on the facility’s grounds following the strike.
The “Kamensky Plant” is part of the Russian military-industrial complex. The plant specializes in the production of solid rocket propellant.
As noted, its products are used in ammunition for the “Uragan,” “Smerch,” and “Tornado-S” multiple launch rocket systems.
In addition, the plant produces solid rocket fuel for other missile systems and aviation weapons.
The extent of the damage to the facility is still being assessed. The Armed Forces stated that operations to strike key enemy targets are ongoing.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Armed Forces drones reached the Arkhangelsk region—located approximately 1,900 km from the border with Ukraine—for the first time. Their target may have been the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia’s only operational military spaceport.
