Ukrainian forces pushed back Russian troops on the Kinburn Peninsula to the village of Heroiske in the Kherson region. Southern defense forces managed to disrupt the occupiers’ logistics routes, making it significantly more difficult to supply ammunition and food to approximately 2,500 Russian troops.
What details did the military official provide about the situation on the Kinburn Peninsula?
Ukrainian defenders completely destroyed the enemy’s artillery right on the spit. As a result, the occupiers are no longer able to move freely through the area or supply their units with fuel or drones.
“The enemy has already retreated past Heroiske; they’ve pulled back from the spit. They’re screaming over the radio that they can’t handle logistics, that they don’t want to go there because it’s a death trap,” said the reconnaissance commander.
Threat to the Mykolaiv Region and Disruption of the Enemy
Currently, the Russian army can only reach the coastal zone of the Mykolaiv region using long-range artillery from the occupied Kherson region. On the peninsula itself, the enemy force is facing a critical shortage of resources.
They’re being sent straight to their deaths because the road is cut off; they have very little ammunition, and they also have few UAVs and interception capabilities. The spit is a trap—in a word, it has become a trap for them,” added a serviceman with the call sign “Java.”
Incidentally, Denis Nosikov, commander of the “Odessa” Operational-Tactical Group, also noted that the enemy is effectively trapped on the Kinburn Spit. Currently, the main force of the occupiers in this sector is the 337th Separate Assault Regiment, but there is no question of any offensive actions on their part.
“In short, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are 100 percent in control. The enemy, whatever it may be called, is currently in a very desperate defensive position,” the commander explained.
