Actress Saba Faisal criticized attitudes toward divorce in Pakistan — Dawn
Pakistani actress Saba Faisal said during an episode of the Gup Shab talk show on Samaa TV that women today recover too quickly after divorce. In her view, the decline in public condemnation of divorce leads to the “destruction” of society, Dawn reports.

Host Vasay Chaudhry recalled Faisal’s previous position, in which she linked the rising number of divorces to women allegedly competing with their husbands. The actress confirmed that she shares these views, referring to the guidance of the older generation.
Faisal also repeated the claim that a woman cannot compete with a man. She said that families in the past could grieve over a divorce in the family for two or three months, while parents and daughters experienced hardship because of it. The actress also mentioned that some women go on vacation after divorce.
