China Coast Guard patrols waters near Kinmen — ECNS
In China, the coast guard of Fujian Province has been conducting routine law enforcement patrols in waters near Kinmen since September. ECNS reported this on September 29, citing a spokesperson for the China Coast Guard.

Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard, said the patrols are part of ongoing measures to strengthen law enforcement activities and maritime management in the relevant waters. The source refers to the patrol area as the Xiamen–Kinmen waters.

Stated objectives of the patrols
According to Zhu Anqing, the patrols are intended to protect the lawful rights and interests of fishermen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The spokesperson also said their purpose is to protect lives and property, as well as ensure normal navigation and fishing in the waters between Xiamen and Kinmen.
