Most Americans want the war against Iran to end as soon as possible, according to a poll

Two-thirds of U.S. citizens believe that the war against Iran should be ended as soon as possible, even if the goals set by the Donald Trump administration are not achieved.

This is according to the results of a Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll conducted March 26–28.

66% of respondents support a swift end to the military campaign, even without achieving the initial objectives. 27% believe the United States should continue the operation until the set objectives are met, even if that means a longer war. Another 6% were undecided.

Opinions among Republicans are divided: 40% favor a quick end to the war, while 57% support continuing the campaign until the stated goals are achieved.

Ordinary Americans are already feeling the effects of the war: in particular, gas prices have risen, exceeding $4 per gallon earlier this week—for the first time in three years. More than half of those surveyed expect the war to have a predominantly negative impact on their personal well-being.

As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the active phase of the military campaign against Iran, known as Operation “Epic Fury,” is coming to an end.

Recall that Trump stated that Iran had offered him the position of supreme leader.

Prior to this, U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized NATO member countries, accusing them of failing to support Washington in its confrontation with Tehran.
