CNN: US provided Saudi Arabia with intelligence support against Houthis
The United States provided Saudi Arabia with intelligence support and assistance in identifying targets for its military campaign against Yemen’s Houthis. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing CNN and several sources familiar with the cooperation.

According to CNN, more than 100 US military advisers are in Saudi Arabia. One US official estimated the total number of involved US military personnel at around 200.
A US official told CNN that the assistance includes a real-time targeting tool, which he compared to the Maven system used by the Pentagon. Another source said that Washington is also providing geospatial support for strikes on Houthi positions.

Limits of cooperation
CNN’s sources stressed that the United States is not directly involved in the strikes. According to them, Washington also does not help refuel Saudi combat aircraft and does not provide other operational support that it provided during previous stages of hostilities.
A Pentagon spokesperson declined to confirm the information, noting that the department generally does not comment on intelligence-related matters. In Yemen, relative calm had persisted on most front lines after a UN-mediated truce took effect in April 2022. At the same time, fighting has intensified in the provinces of Taiz, Marib, Al-Jawf, and Al-Dhale since July.
The Houthis have controlled Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and several cities since September 2014. Yemen’s internationally recognized government and forces allied with it control significant parts of the country’s south, east, and west.
