Dar stresses importance of GSP+ in Pakistan’s trade with EU — Dawn
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, during a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas in New York, United States, stressed the importance of GSP+ for Pakistan’s trade relations with the European Union. This was reported by Dawn, citing Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
The meeting took place on September 21 on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Dar said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its partnership with the European Union, particularly cooperation in trade and the economy.
According to Pakistan’s foreign ministry, the sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments. Dar thanked the EU for its constructive engagement with Pakistan during recent regional developments, as well as for recognizing Islamabad’s efforts toward de-escalation and dialogue.

Call for dialogue
Pakistan’s foreign minister called for a return to dialogue and diplomacy and for ensuring full implementation by all parties of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the United States and Iran signed earlier this year.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry added that Dar and Kallas agreed to maintain close contact on matters of mutual interest.
