The bodies of three climbers who died on Denali have been transported to Latvia
According to LSM English, the repatriation from the U.S. to Latvia of the bodies of three Latvian climbers who died in Alaska has been completed. The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this to the LETA news agency.
The process was organized by Latvian insurers in collaboration with partners in the United States. The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the repatriation was carried out in accordance with the rules and procedures established in the U.S.

In late May, Inese Pucheka, Vija Olte, and Renars Kunigs-Salaks died after falling from the steep slopes of Denali in the U.S., also known as Mount McKinley. Denali is the highest mountain in North America.
Another member of the expedition, Mārtiņš Bilzens, was transported to a hospital in Anchorage in serious condition. Rescuers evacuated three other members of the group from the mountain—Valdis Purins, Edgars Madulis, and Guntis Svarins. Two of them were found to have frostbite.
