Dodon accused Sandu of violating neutrality by participating in a meeting of the Coalition of the Resolute

Igor Dodon, leader of the Socialist Party of Moldova and a pro-Russian former president, claimed that President Maia Sandu allegedly violated the country’s neutrality by participating in a meeting of leaders of the “Coalition of the Resolute” in Paris.

Dodon claims that the coalition continues to support Ukraine, and he also cited statements by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding possible military exercises in countries bordering Ukraine. According to him, they allegedly want to include Moldova in this list as well.

The pro-Russian politician stated that the country’s authorities are “dragging Moldova into geopolitical games,” even though, he said, citizens are seeking peace and stability.

Moldova will send Russia a demand for compensation of 20,000 euros (about 500,000 lei) for repairs to the Isaccha–Vulcanesti power line.

On March 24, the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers approved the declaration of a 60-day state of emergency in the energy sector due to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.
