Estonia's exports and imports rose by 15% in June; the trade deficit stood at €413 million
Estonia's exports and imports of goods rose by 15% year-over-year in June 2026. Exports totaled nearly €1.7 billion, imports amounted to about €2.1 billion, and the trade deficit reached €413 million, according to ERR News, citing Statistics Estonia.
In the first six months of 2026, the country’s exports of goods increased by 8% to nearly €10.1 billion, while imports rose by 7% to about €12 billion. In the first quarter, exports and imports grew by 4%, while in the second quarter, growth rates accelerated: exports rose by 13% and imports by 11% compared to the same period last year.
The largest export categories in June were electrical equipment—14% of the total volume—agricultural and food products—12%—and transportation equipment—11%. The most significant increases were seen in shipments of mineral products—up by €62 million, or 62%, base metals and products made from them—by €28 million, or 25%, and agricultural and food products—by €27 million, or 15%.

Goods of Estonian origin accounted for 64% of total exports. Their shipments also increased by 15% year-over-year. The largest export markets were Finland, which accounted for 16% of exports, Latvia—11%, and Lithuania—9%. Exports to Finland saw the largest increase—by €54 million, or 26%—and to the Netherlands—by €43 million, or 94%.
Electrical equipment accounted for the largest share of imports at 15%, followed by transportation equipment at 14% and food products at 12%. Imports of mineral products rose by €90 million, or 86%, while imports of electrical equipment rose by €70 million, or 29%. The main suppliers of goods were Finland, Germany, and Latvia—each accounting for 11% of total imports.
