Former Prince Andrew has been accused of sexual harassment at the Royal Ascot
The name of former Prince Andrew has once again found itself at the center of a scandal. He has been accused of sexually harassing a woman who worked as a waitress at the Royal Ascot horse races, which were previously attended by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The Daily Star reports on this.
It is known that the alleged incident took place in Ascot in 2002 during the horse races. Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family were present at the races alongside Andrew. It was during this event, according to one woman, that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor behaved inappropriately toward her. The police have not disclosed the details of the complaint.
However, it is a well-known fact that former Prince Andrew was a regular guest at the races alongside his family. In 2002, the Queen’s son was also present at a similar event, attending two of the five days of racing.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was also at the 2002 races in Ascot, where he watched the races from the royal box alongside criminal Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
Incidentally, former Prince Andrew continues to deny any allegations of wrongdoing against him. At the same time, law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the period when the suspect served as a government trade representative from 2001 to 2011. Documents published by the U.S. Department of Justice state that the former duke allegedly passed confidential government reports to Jeffrey Epstein.
It was recently revealed that the investigation covers additional potential crimes involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. These include, in particular, sexual offenses and corruption. The new evidence may become part of the former prince’s case or be considered as “separate” incidents.
Earlier, King Charles III of Great Britain stated that he is ready to “fully cooperate” with the investigation into his brother’s case. “As the police investigation into Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor is ongoing, we cannot comment on these matters,” Buckingham Palace said.
As a reminder, King Charles III of Great Britain stripped his younger brother Andrew of his title of prince and ordered him to leave his estate near Windsor Castle. This decision was a punishment for his ties to American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
