In New York, United States, Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan expressed hope that the 81st United Nations General Assembly would help strengthen global consensus and peace. She published the statement on the Turkish social network NSosyal.

Erdoğan’s statement

As Anadolu Agency reports, Erdoğan said that the decisions to be adopted at the 81st General Assembly and new diplomatic ties should benefit all humanity. In her view, intensive diplomatic activity in New York could help achieve the consensus and calm that the world needs.

Work of the General Assembly

The 81st session of the UN General Assembly formally began on September 8. The high-level general debate opened on Tuesday in New York under the theme “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations for All.”

Heads of state and government are taking part in the meeting, discussing key issues of international security, geopolitics and the economy. The high-level general debate is scheduled to conclude on September 28.
