The EU will spend nearly 1 million euros on training rescue workers from Ukraine and other countries
From September 28 to October 2, large-scale EU civil protection exercises will take place. They will involve 235 representatives of emergency services from Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Romania, and Ukraine. The European Union has allocated nearly 1 million euros for the exercises.
The exercises, known as Crossflood, are organized under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and will take place in Suceava County, Romania. The EU has allocated nearly 1 million euros to cover 90% of the costs.
Regular EU exercises are one of the measures outlined in the European Union’s Strategy on Europe’s Preparedness for Complex Crises, particularly flood response.
