Etihad denies involvement in improper Manchester City deals — The National
In the UAE, Etihad Airways said it categorically rejects any findings, allegations or suggestions of its involvement in improper commercial arrangements. The company responded to the decision of the Premier League's independent commission concerning Manchester City.
Commission findings
This week, the Premier League's independent commission found that Manchester City had breached the league's financial rules. According to the commission, the club entered into contracts that did not reflect the true arrangements with several commercial partners.
As The National reports, Etihad noted that it was not named in the published redacted version of the commission's findings. At the same time, the airline believes that the Premier League's public statement following selective leaks and media publications has created negative reputational consequences for it.

Etihad's position
Etihad said that the Premier League had not contacted the company or involved it in the procedure related to the commission's findings. According to the airline, it had no opportunity to be represented, provide relevant information, or verify the accuracy and fairness of the information on which the findings were based.
Etihad Airways has been a commercial partner and sponsor of Manchester City since 2009. The company said it supports the club, its fans and the partnership while Manchester City challenges the commission's findings through available procedures. The airline also said it would seek legal advice on options to protect its interests.
This week, the club said it was disappointed and surprised by the commission's findings and considers itself innocent of the Premier League's allegations. Manchester City is expected to file an appeal.
