Finland has described the U.S. as unpredictable in a new security report
In its updated security report, the Finnish government described the United States as an "unpredictable" partner.
This was reported by Yle.
The document notes that Washington’s rhetoric has become harsher, and its approach to allies less stable.
These assessments differ from the 2024 report, which described the U.S. as a reliable NATO partner.
The Finnish side attributes these changes to the new U.S. policy following Donald Trump’s return to power, particularly a more pragmatic approach to alliances.
Against this backdrop, Finland calls for strengthening its own defense and the role of European countries in security.
At the same time, the report emphasizes that relations with the U.S. remain close.
As a reminder, Finland has deported a record number of Russians.
Finland is also making it harder to obtain a permanent residence permit.
