flydubai on Wednesday temporarily suspended all flights to and from Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport following an attempted hijacking of flight FZ1073, which was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. This was stated in a carrier statement cited by The Jerusalem Post.

flydubai said the temporary halt to flights would allow the relevant authorities to continue their work and establish all circumstances of the incident. The airline added that it was coordinating its actions with government authorities, regulators and airport representatives.

Earlier the same day, Israel’s Shin Bet security service recommended suspending air traffic between the United Arab Emirates and Israel pending further progress in the investigation. flydubai said it would review the decision to suspend flights as new information becomes available.
