On the night of Thursday, March 26, a Russian drone crashed in Romania after being shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, Russian forces carried out a drone attack on civilian targets and infrastructure in Ukraine near the river border with Romania.
To monitor the air situation, the Romanian military scrambled two F-16 fighter jets.

“At 00:44, the drone, shot down by Ukrainian air defense, entered national airspace for a distance of approximately 4 kilometers. The drone crashed 2 km from the town of Parcheș, outside the settlement,” the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported.
Emergency services and military units quickly arrived at the crash site. They observed an area of scorched vegetation and discovered the drone’s wreckage.
According to preliminary data, no one was injured as a result of the incident, and there were no reports of property damage.
Prior to this, a drone equipped with explosives entered Latvian airspace. It was flying at a low altitude.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs confirmed that the drone, which entered from Russian territory and crashed in Latvia, belonged to Ukraine.
Earlier reports indicated that Latvia had detected a violation of its airspace by a foreign drone, which, according to preliminary data, had entered from Russian territory.
Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds decided to immediately end his visit to Ukraine and return home.
