Japanese doughnut chain to open its first bakery in Singapore — Channel NewsAsia

Japanese bakery chain I'm Donut plans to open its first outlet in Singapore. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the brand announced this in a social media post on September 28.

Opening announced for 2026

The post showed a photo of a hoarding at an undisclosed location and was accompanied by the words “2026 – Coming Soon.” This indicates that the outlet may open during 2026. A separate I'm Donut Singapore account also launched on the same day.

The chain was launched in Japan in 2022. It is known for soft doughnuts made from brioche dough that combines several types of wheat and pumpkin. The dough is fermented for a long time at a low temperature and then quickly fried at a high temperature. This gives the doughnuts a chewy and springy texture, the outlet notes.

Selection and outlet in Malaysia

I'm Donut's signature flavours include a classic brown sugar doughnut, a matcha doughnut and a custard cream doughnut. On September 12, the chain opened its first outlet in Malaysia, at The Exchange TRX shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur. It became the brand's first outlet in Southeast Asia.

According to I'm Donut Malaysia, the team developed a special banana dough for the Malaysian outlet. It also offers exclusive flavours, including banana fritter with caramel, Milo and pandan.
