Israel has begun deporting 37 French citizens who were aboard a humanitarian flotilla heading for the Gaza Strip.
This was reported by Reuters, citing the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to French Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pascal Confavre, the activists are being transported through Turkish territory.
The French side also protested a video released by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir showing the detained activists. Officials in Paris believe the Israeli official was mocking them.
In connection with this, a high-ranking representative of the Israeli diplomatic mission was summoned to the French Foreign Ministry.
At the same time, France stated that it is currently premature to discuss possible sanctions against Ben-Gvir, despite earlier calls for such measures from Italy.
