China and the US to create a channel for superintelligence incidents — South China Morning Post

In Washington, US, China and the United States agreed to create a bilateral communication channel for incidents related to “superintelligence.” The White House said this in a statement on the results of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the US capital, South China Morning Post reports.

Dialogue on superintelligence

The White House noted that the next meeting of the newly created US-China Dialogue on Super Intelligence is to take place before November. The US statement refers to this format as the US-China Super Intelligence Dialogue.

Artificial intelligence talks

The White House called the agreement one of the outcomes of the meeting between the presidents of China and the United States held this week. The meeting took place during Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington.

China’s Ministry of Commerce also confirmed that the country’s senior trade representatives held their first talks with the United States on artificial intelligence. The Chinese ministry reported these talks on Thursday.
