China to lead joint BRICS naval drills off South African coast

From January 9 to 16, China will lead the Will for Peace naval exercises in the waters of the Republic of South Africa under the expanded BRICS Plus format. These drills are significant for strengthening cooperation among the naval forces of BRICS member states and their partners.

The exercises will involve naval vessels from several countries, with confirmed participation from China, Russia, and Iran, and possible involvement of ships from Indonesia, Ethiopia, and other allied states.
