China wins 41 gold medals at WorldSkills in Shanghai — ECNS

China won 41 gold, 11 silver and four bronze medals at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, which concluded on September 27 in Shanghai. The Chinese team also received six medallions for excellence. This is the country’s best result in the history of its participation in the competition, ECNS reports.

Leadership in the medal standings

China ranked first in the number of gold awards and in the overall team standings for the fifth time. The country’s delegation consisted of 71 participants who competed in all 64 skills categories of the competition. This is the third time China has been represented in every WorldSkills discipline.

Chinese participants also continued winning streaks in several skills categories. They claimed a sixth consecutive title in CNC milling, a fifth in bricklaying and fashion technology, as well as a fourth in electrical installations, electronics and autonomous mobile robotics.

Honors for individual participants

He Xiaoman won a gold medal in railway transport technology and received the Albert Vidal Award as the participant with the highest score across all skills categories. China won this award for the third time.

Jiao Jiao, China’s representative in car body repair, received the Best of Nation award.
