China's Communist Party launches campaign to correctly evaluate political achievements
The General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has issued a document announcing the start of an educational campaign aimed at cultivating among party leaders a correct understanding of political achievements (政绩观).
This campaign is one of the three key guiding principles for party workers, defining the criteria officials should use in assessing their accomplishments: long-term development, the welfare of the people, or superficial, short-term indicators. The campaign targets leaders at the county level and above, with a particular focus on top officials, and it will continue until the end of July.
The focus will be on ensuring Chinese Communist Party members prioritise the public’s welfare and engage in more practical actions benefiting the population so that people "feel and receive new benefits." The document also stresses the importance of this approach for the party’s ongoing stability and development.
