European Council President António Costa publicly thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyy for restoring a section of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Ukraine announced the completion of repair work following damage to the infrastructure caused by a Russian strike. The EU described this as the fulfillment of agreements, Costa wrote on social media platform X.
European Council President António Costa thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for Ukraine’s restoration of the damaged section of the Druzhba oil pipeline. He wrote about this on social media platform X, responding to Kyiv’s announcement that repair work had been completed. “Thank you, President Zelenskyy, for fulfilling the agreements: repairing the Druzhba main oil pipeline and restoring its operation,” Costa noted.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had restored the section of the oil pipeline damaged by a Russian strike and that it is technically operational again. According to him, this is part of a broader negotiation process with European partners regarding support for Ukraine.
The president also emphasized that Kyiv expects further steps from the EU, particularly regarding the already agreed-upon aid packages and the opening of new clusters for Ukraine. “And we hope that our partners will take appropriate steps regarding the clusters for Ukraine as well—we have already done our part regarding the first clusters,” Zelenskyy said.
Separately, he emphasized the need to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia and reduce Europe’s energy dependence through diversification of supplies.
Zelenskyystated that Russia has changed its plans in the war.
Concluding his remarks, Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military for their service and emphasized that their actions determine the state’s resilience in the war every day.
