Latvia will allocate €200,000 to support the energy sector in the Chernihiv region
On Tuesday, August 25, the Latvian government approved a new energy aid package for the Chernihiv region totaling approximately 200,000 euros.
“Today, the Latvian government approved a new energy support package for Ukraine’s Chernihiv region worth approximately 200,000 euros,” Brazhe wrote.
According to the head of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Latvia aims to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience and support the country’s regions amid Russian attacks.
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže announced this on social media platform X.
As a reminder, Switzerland will allocate 600,000 Swiss francs, or about $730,000, to prepare for the restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and protect it from further damage. The complex sustained damage as a result of a Russian airstrike in June 2026.
