The leader of the British Greens will run for Starmer's seat
On September 11, Zak Polanski, leader of the UK Green Party, became the party’s candidate in a parliamentary by-election. He will be running to fill the seat vacated by former Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who recently announced his resignation.
Polanski will compete for a seat in the House of Commons in the by-election for the Holborn and St. Pancras district, which will take place on October 8.
Members of the Camden branch of the Green Party selected him as their candidate, choosing him over local councilor Hamza Choudhury.
Polanski stated that “the Greens may be the underdogs in this election, but we’re gaining momentum and can win.”
