Marco Rubio will discuss with Lavrov an end to Russia's war in Ukraine

According to Rubio, the U.S. seeks an end to this war and remains open and ready to play a constructive role in achieving peace if the opportunity arises.
Rubio noted that the war has largely prevented Russia and the U.S. from finding common ground on other issues, although cooperation in certain areas is still possible. He emphasized that ending the conflict would be beneficial for Russia, so this issue will be raised during the talks.
Despite the lack of significant progress in the dialogue over the past few months, new conditions for such a conversation may now be emerging.

As a reminder, Russia, the aggressor state, is ready to return to negotiations with Ukraine only after seizing the entire territory of Donetsk Oblast, Bloomberg reports, citing two sources close to the Kremlin.
