Merz has become the least popular leader among democracies

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz tops the list of least popular leaders of democratic countries in terms of public support.

This was reported by Euronews.

According to a Morning Consult poll, only 19% of Germans approve of his work, while 76% disapprove.

French President Emmanuel Macron ranked second from the bottom, with 18% approval and 75% disapproval.

It is noted that even former Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a higher approval rating during his worst periods—around 28%.

U.S. President Donald Trump ranked 10th from the bottom: 38% approval versus 57% disapproval.

In the middle of the ranking are Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez (38% approval) and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (39%).

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the highest approval rating—70%. He is followed by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung (63%) and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (55%).
