Minister Ben-Gvir to demand flydubai pilot’s extradition — Jerusalem Post
In Israel, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said that at a Security Cabinet meeting on Thursday he would demand efforts to extradite to the country a flydubai airline pilot suspected of attempting to hijack a passenger plane bound for Tel Aviv. This was reported by the Jerusalem Post, citing the minister’s office.
Extradition demand
Ben-Gvir, who is a member of the Security Cabinet, plans to call on the Justice Ministry and responsible diplomatic officials to immediately use all available means to extradite the suspect. The minister wants him to be questioned and held accountable in Israel.

According to Ben-Gvir, the suspect allegedly planned to send the plane crashing and kill 180 Israelis. He said that the man must be extradited to Israel and face the most severe punishment there. The minister also commended the passengers who intervened during the incident.
Aviation security review
Following the incident, Israeli authorities launched a review of aviation security measures. Transport Minister Miri Regev called for flydubai flights to Israel to be suspended after questions arose over the presence of an Omani pilot on a route to the country. Israel’s aviation and security services also examined response procedures for suspicious aircraft approaching Israeli airspace.
