Moldova has declared Russian military personnel in Transnistria persona non grata

The Moldovan authorities have declared the leadership of the Russian Operational Group of Forces (ROGF) in Transnistria persona non grata.

This was reported by TV8.md.

Sources within government agencies confirmed this information to the Zona de Securitate editorial team.

The list of individuals banned from entering the country includes OGRV Commander Dmitry Zelenkov and his deputies: Dmitry Opalev, Sergey Mashchenko, and Sergey Shirsov.

Similar measures have been taken against Chief of Staff Marat Yarulin and Alexei Bogomolov.

The decision by the official authorities in Chisinau blocks the movement of the OGRV command.

If they attempt to leave the region, they face deportation from the country with an indefinite ban on re-entry.

It is noted that the Russian task force was formed from the remnants of the former 14th Army of the USSR.

During the war on the Dniester, units of this army fought on the side of the separatists.

According to estimates, the OGRV contingent currently numbers about 1,200 servicemen.

For many years, the Moldovan authorities have consistently demanded the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and the removal of ammunition, emphasizing that the presence of this contingent on the country’s territory is illegal and violates its sovereignty.
