The U.S. Marine Corps will equip the AH-1Z with new Red Wolf missiles

The U.S. Marine Corps plans to equip Bell AH-1Z helicopters with Red Wolf precision-guided missiles. The decision was made based on experience from recent combat operations, particularly the situation in Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of Bell Textron in Ukraine.

Tests have already confirmed the successful use of this weapon, which is being developed in collaboration with L3Harris.

Red Wolf missiles are currently being prepared for mass production.

It is capable of striking targets at a range of over 200 nautical miles (about 370 kilometers).

The system is designed to operate beyond the pilot’s line of sight and can autonomously continue toward the target.

The Red Wolf is part of the broader Wolf Pack family of systems, which can be deployed on air, land, and sea platforms.

Missiles for Ukraine

In collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Ukraine-Invest agency, the parties are also exploring the possibility of purchasing UH-1Y and AH-1Z helicopters.

“The AH-1Z, equipped with these missiles, will give Ukraine access to unprecedented strike range, providing an additional advantage in the airspace,” Bell Textron said.

Two U.S. Navy ships have begun clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, the United Kingdom plans to hold a new round of talks with allies regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, which remains a key route for global energy. Representatives from dozens of countries will participate in the meeting, though the level of delegations will be lower than before.

Negotiations between the U.S. and Iran have begun to move forward. Tehran stated that Washington has allegedly agreed to unfreeze some of Iran’s assets, but there has been no official confirmation from the American side yet.

Iran is unable to quickly restore safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz due to the problem of minefields in the waterway and the lack of technical means to completely clear them.
