Fire near Panayia in Paphos district contained in Cyprus
A fire near the village of Panayia in Cyprus’s Paphos district was contained on Wednesday evening. According to Cyprus Mail, Forestry Department crews continued extinguishing the remaining flames.
Fire on private plots
The fire broke out on private land plots in the Fonias area, near the village of Panayia. The fire service was dispatched to the area, while Forestry Department staff remained at the site overnight to continue firefighting operations.

Extinguishing continued
A department representative said that the fire had already been contained. According to him, the fire was confined to a hard-to-reach area, where firefighters used water hoses to extinguish the flames.
The department noted that crews continued working at the site to completely extinguish the fire. The work continued despite the fact that the spread of the fire had already been brought under control.
