Industrial goods sales in Cyprus rise to €4.77 billion — Cyprus Mail
In Cyprus, sales of goods produced by local industrial enterprises rose by 3.7% to €4.77 billion. This is €170.2 million more than a year earlier, when the figure stood at €4.60 billion, Cyprus Mail reports, citing data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus, Cystat.
Sales growth slowed compared with the previous year: in 2023, it stood at 7.3%, while the total value of industrial products sold increased from €4.29 billion to €4.60 billion.
Largest categories
Among the largest categories were fresh bakery and confectionery products, with sales totaling €373.8 million, 6.4% more than the previous figure of €351.4 million. Halloumi sales reached 46.1 thousand tonnes worth €364.1 million, compared with 41.9 thousand tonnes worth €338.1 million a year earlier. Sales volume of this product rose by approximately 10%, while its value increased by 7.7%.

Halloumi exports amounted to 42,427 tonnes worth €324 million, while in 2023 they totaled 39,078 tonnes worth €315 million. Sales of pharmaceutical products and preparations rose by 3.4% to €363.3 million. Pharmaceutical exports were previously estimated at €348 million, or 14.4% of Cyprus’ industrial product exports. Combined, bakery products, halloumi and pharmaceuticals generated more than €1.1 billion in sales.
Changes in the food and construction sectors
Sales of fresh fruit juices increased to 75 thousand tonnes worth €54 million, beer to 43.1 million litres worth €57 million, and soft drinks to 14.7 million litres worth €23.5 million. Sales of bottled mineral water rose to 216.9 million litres worth €46.7 million—almost 14% in physical volume and 17% in monetary terms.
At the same time, sales of pasteurized milk and fresh cream declined to €82.7 million, while wine sales fell to €35.7 million. Sales of cement and clinker decreased by nearly €20 million to €138.3 million, while sales of ready-mixed concrete rose by 4% to €257.6 million.
