NATO has deployed artificial intelligence to monitor Russian troops

NATO has deployed artificial intelligence to monitor Russian troops

NATO has begun using the Maven Smart System (MSS NATO), an artificial intelligence system developed by the American company Palantir Technologies, to monitor the situation on the Alliance’s eastern flank. The new platform will help analyze data and track the movements of Russian troops in near real time.

The new platform combines data from various military intelligence sources, including satellites, drones, and radar stations. The system then analyzes the information and helps to quickly assess changes in the situation.

The main task of the Maven Smart System will be to monitor the situation on NATO’s eastern flank and to detect the redeployment of Russian military units in a timely manner.

As an example, The Times cites the possible movement of units from Russia’s 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division closer to the border with Estonia. In such a case, the system would automatically detect the changes and relay the information to military command.

In addition to monitoring troop movements, artificial intelligence will help analyze the operational situation, provide timely warnings of potential threats, and identify possible targets in the event of an armed conflict.

According to the publication, the implementation of the system is part of efforts to strengthen the Alliance’s defense capabilities amid growing tensions near NATO’s eastern borders.

The platform was developed by the American company Palantir Technologies, which specializes in software for analyzing large data sets and already collaborates with U.S. government and defense agencies.

This was reported by The Times.

Earlier, Trump spoke of his good relations with Zelenskyy.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he is ready to visit Ukraine “at the appropriate time,” but believes it would be best to do so after the Russian-Ukrainian war has ended.

The meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the U.S. took place on the sidelines of the NATO summit. Among the main topics of discussion were strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, supplying missiles for the Patriot systems, as well as continued military support for Ukraine and exploring ways to achieve peace. Donald Trump made these remarks during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
