Germany is preparing to evacuate a city due to a massive fire in Belgium
Due to a large forest fire in the Belgian nature reserve of Goes-Fenn, authorities in the German town of Monschau have urged some residents to prepare for a possible evacuation.
Residents of Plattewenne, Leilohe, and part of the Kaltergerberg district are advised to temporarily leave their homes due to health risks from smoke and ash caused by the fire. The warning is currently in effect until 6:00 p.m. on August 16.
The flames are approximately 3 km from the German border. German firefighters and rescue workers are on high alert and preparing for the possible spread of the fire.
