Norway has begun its first shift using a new anti-drone system
In Norway, the first specialized system for detecting and destroying drones has begun operations at an air base near Trondheim. There are also plans to station new F-35 fighter jets at this base.
The C-UAS system is designed to protect stationary military facilities from drones weighing up to 150 kg. It is capable of autonomously detecting and identifying drones and, if necessary, neutralizing them.
Norway plans to install such systems at other facilities of its Armed Forces as well. The decision to strengthen anti-drone defenses was made following incidents involving suspicious UAVs near an air base in 2025.
