New Zealand has allocated nearly $3 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine
The New Zealand government has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth 5 million New Zealand dollars, equivalent to nearly 3 million U.S. dollars. The funding will be directed toward humanitarian needs and assistance for those affected by the war.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the decision was made against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine.
“As Russia continues its brutal attacks, New Zealand is providing Ukraine with an additional 5 million dollars in humanitarian aid. New Zealand stands firmly with Ukraine and its people,” the statement reads.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga thanked the New Zealand government for its decision to allocate additional funds.
“As Russia continues its brutal attacks on Ukrainian civilians and vital infrastructure, we greatly appreciate this contribution to strengthening the resilience of our people. We are deeply grateful to New Zealand for its principled solidarity with Ukraine and our people,” he said.
