New Zealand has imposed new sanctions against those involved in the war in Ukraine
New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced a new package of sanctions against individuals and organizations supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine. The sanctions list also includes individuals involved in the abduction and forced re-education of Ukrainian children.
Winston Peters emphasized that Ukrainian children cannot be used as tools of Russia’s war.
“Children cannot be used as weapons of war. New Zealand remains deeply concerned about attempts to abduct and re-educate Ukrainian children as part of state-run forced programs,” Peters emphasized.
The new package of restrictions is part of New Zealand’s sanctions policy in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. Senate for supporting a bill on new sanctions against Russia and Iran. He stated that strong economic pressure on Moscow is what can help bring the war to a quicker end.
The U.S. Senate has approved a sweeping bill imposing new sanctions against Russia and Iran. The bill passed with 68 votes in favor and nine against, and will now be considered by the U.S. House of Representatives.
