The UAE may join the U.S. in forcibly opening the Strait of Hormuz, according to the WSJ

The United Arab Emirates is considering participating in a military operation with the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This could mark the first time a Gulf state has officially joined combat operations in response to Iran’s actions.

The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing sources among Arab officials.

According to them, the UAE is actively promoting the idea of adopting a UN Security Council resolution that could provide an international mandate for the forceful reopening of the strait. The country’s diplomats are also calling on the U.S. and allies in Europe and Asia to form a military coalition for this purpose.

At the same time, Abu Dhabi asserts that freedom of navigation in the region must be guaranteed, as the strait is a key route for global energy supplies.

Among the options being considered are not only military escorts for ships but also mine-clearing operations, as well as control over strategic islands, particularly Abu Musa, which is controlled by Iran.

Sources note that even in the absence of a UN resolution, the Emirates may join the operation independently or in a coalition with the US.

However, such a move carries significant risks. Iran has already warned that it will strike critical infrastructure in any Gulf country that supports military intervention.

Against the backdrop of these statements, Tehran has already intensified its attacks on UAE territory. In recent days, there has been a sharp increase in the intensity of missile and drone strikes.

Tensions remain high in the Persian Gulf region, and a potential military opening of the Strait of Hormuz could significantly impact global security and energy markets.

As a reminder, Pakistan is considering the possibility of helping foreign vessels safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The idea is for ships to be officially registered under Pakistan’s “flags of convenience,” although the flags will not physically be flown.

The U.S. and Iran have yet to reach an agreement, even after a new round of negotiations.

The Pentagon stated that the video posted by Donald Trump shows strikes by American bombers on an ammunition depot in Iran. The facility in question is located in the city of Isfahan.

Gas prices in Israel will skyrocket amid the war with Iran. Starting at midnight, the cost of fuel will exceed a level not seen in nearly four years.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hagset visited American troops in the Middle East. According to him, the soldiers asked for neither better conditions nor a return home.

The U.S. currently prefers to negotiate with Iran rather than go to war. The Pentagon says: a deal is the top priority.

The U.S. does not want to say in advance whether it will send troops into Iran. The Pentagon states outright: the main strategy is to be unpredictable.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington will no longer support countries that cannot independently secure access to energy resources due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

As a reminder, Iran called Ukraine an accomplice to US and Israeli aggression at the UN.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported that the Iranian regime has made two attempts to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump.
