Ocasio-Cortez says she would be unlikely to date a conservative

Democratic U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that she would probably not date a conservative. Answering a TMZ reporter’s question on Capitol Hill, the New York representative said that it was most likely not for her.

Shared values in relationships

As The Hill reports, Ocasio-Cortez does not oppose relationships between people with different political views. At the same time, she noted that each person defines differently what it means to date a supporter of another political force.

The congresswoman explained that politics is largely connected to values for her, and that alignment in those values is extremely important in a relationship. The journalist also asked her whether she would advise against building a relationship with someone from a different political camp.

Talking about egg freezing

The outlet writes that Ocasio-Cortez has been publicly discussing the egg-freezing process. According to her, it will give her more time to decide whether she wants to have children while focusing on her political career.

She also said that she finds some of the criticism of her videos about the process amusing. In one video dedicated to the sixth day of the procedure, the congresswoman mentioned a comment claiming that her actions were spreading the dangerous idea that women can have it all.

Conservative podcaster Katie Miller, the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, supported Ocasio-Cortez’s decision. She said that a woman’s decision to preserve the possibility of having children in the future should be supported.
