The Moldovan Parliament has approved the new government led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan

The Moldovan Parliament passed a vote of confidence in the new government led by Vasile Tofan. Fifty-three deputies from the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) voted in favor of the resolution.

Speaking at the plenary session, the newly elected prime minister outlined five key priorities for the cabinet, including economic development, leveraging the European integration process to modernize the country, streamlining the government system, strengthening security, and improving citizens’ quality of life.

Moldova’s ruling party, PAS, has selected its candidate for prime minister. The candidate is businessman and investor Vasile Tofan, who will be officially presented to President Maia Sandu. Party officials say they are counting on his experience in business and international investments. They cite continuing reforms, fighting corruption, and moving the country toward EU accession as some of the future government’s main priorities.

Ukrainians living in Moldova will be able to obtain Ukrainian citizenship through a simplified process. The new conditions are intended to speed up the processing of documents and reduce bureaucratic procedures for citizens abroad.
