Peskov Says Anchorage Agreements Will Remain on the Agenda
In Moscow, Kremlin spokesman for Russia — the aggressor state — Dmitry Peskov said that certain elements of the agreements reached during the summit in Anchorage, Alaska, “will always remain on the agenda.” He was referring to the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, which took place in August last year.
Peskov’s statement
According to Peskov, the parties reached certain agreements during the Anchorage summit. At the same time, he noted that it is currently difficult to say to what extent they may be applicable from the perspective of Ukraine and the United States.

Meeting in Moscow
Peskov also called Putin’s meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner evidence of an atmosphere of trust in this communication channel. According to him, such an atmosphere exists and is strengthening.
Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday for talks with Putin. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the conversation lasted three hours and ten minutes and concerned Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as possible large-scale Russian-American projects.
Ushakov described the meeting as substantive, constructive and extremely candid. On Sunday, the American envoys traveled to Kyiv. Earlier, Moscow and Kyiv held three rounds of US-mediated peace talks in January and February of this year. According to the agency, the talks were later suspended, with Moscow and Kyiv linking this to the US war against Iran, which began in late February.
