Pakistan opens Islamabad police command center — Dawn
In Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated a modern command, control, communication and coordination center for the police. The ceremony took place on September 8, Dawn reports.
A single platform for police
According to Naqvi, the center is intended to strengthen the management, monitoring and coordination system of Islamabad police operations, as well as speed up decision-making. The main purpose of the new facility is to enable the Islamabad inspector general of police to manage and control the work of all police units from one location.
Key police operational systems, including Safe City, police operations systems and systems for monitoring the situation in the city, are to be connected to the central platform. The head of the capital’s police will be able to directly monitor the situation and issue operational orders in the event of emergencies or security situations.

Technology and response
The minister said that systems based on artificial intelligence and other modern technologies should make police work, response times and control over field units more effective. According to him, the new system is also intended to improve communication and coordination between different units, ensure the rapid flow of information and response to incidents.
Naqvi inspected sections of the center and familiarized himself with the monitoring and management system. He was presented with integrated solutions for Safe City, police operations, control of field units, emergency response and artificial intelligence-based technologies.
