In Ghana, Saalim Bamba suspends campaign after convoy accident
In Ghana, Saalim Bamba, who is seeking the position of national Nasara organizer in the New Patriotic Party, has suspended her campaign indefinitely after an accident involving a vehicle in her convoy. This was reported by MyJoyOnline, citing the Ghana News Agency and a statement from the politician’s campaign headquarters.
Accident on the road to Wa
The incident occurred on Monday, September 7, 2026, when Bamba’s team was travelling from Tumu in the Upper West Region to the city of Wa. Prior to that, she held a meeting in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
Bamba has twice served as the New Patriotic Party’s Nasara regional organizer in the Ashanti Region. She is now running for the equivalent position at the party’s national level.

Condition of those injured
According to a statement from the campaign headquarters, signed by campaign spokesperson Alhaji Suwaari Ibrahim Ar-Rahman, those injured in the accident received medical assistance and were discharged. One person was taken to Wenchi Methodist Hospital for further treatment.
The headquarters explained that the campaign was suspended in order to focus on the welfare and recovery of those affected. The team also thanked people for their support after the incident and called for prayers for a campaign member who continues to receive medical care.
