A Polish man called for Zelenskyy to be killed and was arrested by the police

In Poland, law enforcement officials detained a 40-year-old man who posted offensive messages on social media targeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and called for his assassination. The police have launched an investigation into possible incitement to violence.

According to law enforcement officials, the man shared posts containing threats and calls to commit a crime against the Ukrainian leader. Legal proceedings are currently underway, and all circumstances of the case are being investigated.

As noted, the arrest took place on Thursday, July 30. A spokeswoman for the Małopolska Voivodeship Police stated that law enforcement had gathered evidence regarding the 40-year-old man’s activities on social media.

On this basis, the man was charged with publicly inciting the crime of murder and insulting the President of Ukraine.

According to the police, the 40-year-old man expressed remorse during questioning. He explained to the police that he acted under the influence of his emotions and regrets what he did.

He faces up to three years in prison for the alleged offenses.

The case is being handled under the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office in Muszyna.

In this context, it is worth noting that on Wednesday, the Ukrainian president was on a visit to Lublin, where he held talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
