Poland has officially adopted the F-35 fighter jets
The Polish Armed Forces have officially put into service the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II multi-role fighters, which were purchased from the United States. The induction ceremony took place at the airbase in Łask. The new aircraft will help strengthen the defensive capabilities of the Polish Air Force.
On Friday, Polish F-35 pilots performed ceremonial flyovers over Gdańsk, Warsaw, and Kraków as part of the “Greetings from Poland” event.
The fighter jets flew over the Westerplatte peninsula, after which the aircraft appeared over Warsaw, flying along the Vistula River at the altitude of the Warsaw Citadel.
The route concluded with a flyover of Kraków near Wawel Hill.
The flight is part of the celebrations marking the induction of Polish F-35 aircraft into the Armed Forces. The ceremony, held at the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask, the new F-35 base, Polish President Karol Nawrocki, Senate Marshal Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska, and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
