US ambassador to Israel calls for severe consequences to stop West Bank violence
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited the Palestinian town of Turmus Ayya near Ramallah in the Israel-occupied West Bank on September 5 and called for “severe consequences” to stop the violence. The Hindu International reports.

During the visit, Huckabee met with Palestinians, including families of US citizens who, according to the publication, were killed by Israeli settlers. A significant number of US citizens live in Turmus Ayya. The town, the publication notes, has repeatedly been subjected to settler attacks.

Ambassador’s statement
Speaking to reporters, Huckabee said: “Our clear message is that crime is crime, terror is terror. When people do this, they should expect severe consequences.”
At the same time, the US ambassador to Israel declined to criticize Israel.
