Human rights activists have alleged that Israel deliberately targeted a journalist in Lebanon

Three human rights organizations—Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and The Legal Agenda—have released the findings of their investigation into the Israeli attack that killed Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil in April, according to France 24.

According to the organizations’ findings, 42-year-old Khalil and her camerawoman were deliberately targeted. The camerawoman was wounded, and the journalist was killed, France 24 notes.

Khalil worked for the Lebanese daily newspaper Al-Akhbar. The France 24 report does not include the Israeli side’s position on the findings of this investigation.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights states that deliberate attacks on civilians are considered war crimes. At the same time, the conclusion that this attack was deliberate is attributed in the France 24 report specifically to three human rights organizations. The report was prepared by France 24’s correspondent in Israel, Noga Tarnopolskaya.
