During a phone call, Burnham and Frederiksen welcomed Washington’s commitments to the region. The UK prime minister’s office said the sides stressed the strategic and shared importance of the High North for Euro-Atlantic security.
Planned meeting with Trump
Burnham is also expected to congratulate US President Donald Trump on reaching the agreement. Next week, Burnham and Trump plan to hold their first in-person meeting during the UN General Assembly in New York.
