South Korean Prime Minister discusses investment and cooperation with US with AmCham
South Korean Prime Minister Han Song-suk discussed regulatory reform, attracting foreign investment and deepening economic cooperation with the United States with the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham) in Seoul. The meeting was held at The Shilla Seoul hotel and brought together about 200 participants, including government representatives, foreign businesses, AmCham’s board of governors and member companies, Korea Herald reports.
Investment and industrial policy
AmCham Chairman and CEO James Kim opened the event, followed by remarks from Han. They then held a public conversation focused on South Korea’s economic and industrial policy, measures to attract foreign investment and opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Participants also discussed the country’s response to changing geopolitical conditions, the development of the artificial intelligence ecosystem and South Korea’s competitiveness as a location for global investment and regional corporate headquarters.

Cooperation in AI and energy
Han said that South Korea and the United States are expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, supply chains, energy and strategic investment. She also reaffirmed the government’s intention to support foreign companies operating in the country.
Regarding cross-border investment, the prime minister called for projects that would benefit both economies and invited AmCham members to submit proposals involving Korean and US companies. Following the public portion of the event, a closed luncheon was held with executives from major chamber member companies.
AmCham said it would continue regular dialogue with the government and cooperation through the AI Leadership Council and other sectoral initiatives. James Kim said the chamber expects to work with the government to turn the discussions into meaningful progress and strengthen the US-South Korea economic partnership.
